Here's What You'll Get at Two Dogs and a Cabin

Half City, Half Woods”: Our Life in Between
And through it all, our two miniature poodles, Inky and Callie, tag along—adjusting like champs (mostly) as we go back and forth. The transition isn’t always seamless, but we’ve learned a lot about how dogs can thrive in both city parks and open fields. We love sharing those lessons here.
Real Life at the Cabin
Our cabin isn’t a vacation spot—it’s a second home, and like any home, it comes with chores, challenges, and charm. We’re constantly learning and doing:
-
Building firewood racks
-
Trimming wild apple trees
-
Fixing what nature wears down
-
Getting creative when we forget something essential
(Yes, we’ve done laundry using a cooler and elbow grease!)
You’ll find some of our favorite cabin DIYs, hacks, and solutions here—because living simply sometimes means solving problems in delightfully unexpected ways.
Cabin Cravings & Healthy Balance
Cabin life has a funny way of boosting your appetite. We’re always a little hungrier out here—maybe it’s the air, maybe it’s the movement. Either way, we try to stay mindful:
We still enjoy our comfort foods (fresh-baked muffins are a weakness), but we also share easy, healthy meals that don’t require fancy ingredients. It’s about balance, not restriction. And trust us—nothing tastes better than a hearty soup after a long hike.
Still City People (At Heart)
Even as we fall in love with the trees, we haven’t let go of our love for the city. Toronto has its own magic—art galleries, bike paths, great food, and, yes, good Wi-Fi. We’re not choosing between lifestyles; we’re choosing both.
The cabin lets us reset. The city lets us plug in. It’s that back-and-forth that makes both lives feel fuller.
